I have been a fitness trainer/coach for twenty-five years, designing health and fitness programs for both healthy and not-so-healthy individuals and groups. I have worked with celebrities, executives, entrepreneurs, and at-home parents, all with a common goal of wanting to improve their personal health, fitness and wellness.

The old saying "love what you do and do what you love" is my way of life.  I started designing exercise programs as a way to supplement my income as a dancer, and quickly discovered that I enjoyed helping people feel better, while helping myself as well.

As a baby-boomer, I could see a growing need to understand the positive effects of increased health and fitness on aging.  I decided to specialize and went back to NYU for my Master's degree in Adult Fitness Management. With my new credentials in hand, I left dancing behind and began a new career of helping people be stronger, healthier and happier.

True or False?

"People don't change!”

FALSE

An individual can change if it is their own clear intention and choice to do so.

What makes personal change most difficult is when we are listening to what everyone else thinks we should be doing, how we should behave, what we should eat and what kind of person we should be.

Change is a matter of choice – your own.

If you want to change something in your life you can – you simply set your intention on what you want and make the choice to do it.

I made a lot of choices and changes in my life, which led me to where I am today….

Before my dancing career, I was an overweight teen, without the “willpower” to change my relationship with food. In my early twenties, I faced up to the underlying issues of my weight – and as you can imagine these issues went deeper than just how much food I was eating. In those days you were labeled "weak" if you could not stick to a diet.  What I learned about myself at that point was that I had not taken the responsibility for my own choices, my own actions.

Behavioral change is a step by step process.  For a new behavior to become a habit it takes practice, repetition and time.

I decided I was ready and willing to take control of my life. It was not easy: it took time, professional help, vision, patience and a whole new set of rules - my own.  I changed the food I ate, quit smoking, became a physically active person and lost 35 lbs.   I have maintained this balance and healthier lifestyle for 30 years.  It was one of the best choices I ever made – my choice to set my intention and take responsibility for my actions.

Why feel just OK when feeling a whole lot better is within your reach?

Being a wellness coach is not only my profession; it is my way of life.

I would like to introduce you to the possibility of feeling better, looking better, and simply waking up in the morning with the energy to face each new day with excitement.  As your wellness coach, I will help you create and put in place new strategies and behaviors that you will design for yourself through our weekly conversations.
